Singers

Chorus members include pre-school and elementary teachers, professors, business executives, entrepreneurs, attorneys, students, artists, mothers and grandmothers. Our singers come from 15 communities in Orange County as well as Long Beach, Los Angeles and San Diego. We come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences but are bound by our love of choral music and the shared experience of creating it together.

AUDITIONS

The OCWC holds auditions for new singers in August of each year. We encourage any woman with choral experience, music-reading ability, and a love of good music and spirited company to audition!
We rehearse on Tuesday evenings at Newport Harbor Lutheran Church in Newport Beach, with three major concerts per year, and smaller performances along the way. Our members enjoy social gatherings and dinners out, too, and friendships flourish along with great music-making.

Auditions include vocalization, pitch-matching, and sight-reading exercises, and a song of the singer’s choice (which need not be a formal solo) to be sung unaccompanied..
